Scottish IAG Fact Sheets

SSCs are the key source of LMI which informs and underpins the impartial careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) they provide for all ages. Careers IAG enables individuals to learn more about the different sectors and make informed decisions about their future career whether they are at school, changing career or older workers.

Each Scottish IAG Fact Sheet focuses on a range of SSCs, from banking to butchery, engineering to healthcare, and fish farming to mining, to name but a few. The research's principal data source is the Scottish Employers Skills Survey (SESS), which is a survey undertaken by the Scottish Government.

The fact sheets provide insight into what the sector covers in terms of industries, entry requirements, typical job roles, what skills and strengths are required and some interesting facts. In addition, they also include a case study on an individual working in the industry and a range of useful links to find out further information or career advice.
